The Navy damage controlman is an integral member in ensuring success in battle and Navy efficiency. This specialist is primarily responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used for fire fighting, damage control and defense against chemical, biological and radiological attack or accidents.
Training
Nearly every Navy enlisted soldier undergoes eight weeks of basic training, which consists of basic skills needed for Navy activities. Advanced individual training is usually required for specialization. The length of time needed for advanced training varies depending on the area of specialization.
