Job Description
The Navy physician assistant is an integral member of the team providing health care services. This officer is primarily responsible for examine, diagnosing and treating patients under the supervision of a doctor.



Training

To become an officer in the Navy, you must be a current student or graduate of a four-year college or university. You must also complete an extensive training officer course, which may vary in length depending upon your specialty.



Helpful skills

The ideal candidate for a Navy physician assistant should:

- Be a U.S. citizen and at least 19 years old

- Have a four-year degree or diploma from an accredited physician assistant\\\'s program

- Show self-discipline, initiative, confidence and intelligence
