Job Description
The Navy illustrator draftsman plays an important role in providing effective communications for the Navy.



The Navy photojournalist plays an important role in effective communications for the Navy. This specialist is primarily responsible for gathering information and writing articles for Navy and civilian publications. Duties include:

- Preparing stories for hometown news outlets

- Photographing newsworthy events

- Writing, editing and proofreading articles



Training

Nearly every Navy enlisted soldier undergoes eight weeks of basic training, which consists of basic skills needed for Navy activities. Advanced individual training is usually required for specialization. The length of time needed for advanced training varies depending on the area of specialization.

The ideal candidate for a Navy photojournalist should:

- Have writing and speaking skills

- Be creative and curious about people
