| Job Description |
The Navy musician enhances the ceremonies and events sponsored by the Navy. This specialist provides music for military ceremonies, religious rites, concerts, parades and various recreational activities. The Navy bands may be called upon to play many styles from jazz to chamber music.
Training
Nearly every Navy enlisted soldier undergoes eight weeks of basic training, which consists of basic skills needed for Navy activities. Advanced individual training is usually required for specialization. The length of time needed for advanced training varies depending on the area of specialization.
