Job Description
The Navy Air crews Survival Equipment Man provides an important service to ensuring success in battle and in peacetime activities. This specialist is primarily responsible for the proper preparation and maintenance of survival gear. This equipment includes parachutes, fight and protective clothing, life jackets, tents and pressure suits.

Training
Nearly every Navy enlisted soldier undergoes eight weeks of basic training, which consists of basic skills needed for Navy activities. Advanced individual training is usually required for specialization. The length of time needed for advanced training varies depending on the area of specialization.

The ideal candidate for a Navy air crews survival equipment man should:
- Understand the need for detailed and accurate work
- Have shop and sewing skills
