| Job Description |
The Navy Aerographer's Mate is an integral member in ensuring success in battle and peacetime activities. This specialist is primarily responsible for collecting, recording and analyzing meteorological and oceanographic data. Duties also include:
- Preparing charts based on this data
- Forecasting from visual and instrumental weather observations
- Operating and maintaining computer equipment
Training
Nearly every Navy enlisted soldier undergoes eight weeks of basic training, which consists of basic skills needed for Navy activities. Advanced individual training is usually required for specialization. The length of time needed for advanced training varies depending on the area of specialization.
