Job Description
The Navy Air Traffic Controller is an integral member in ensuring success in battle and peacetime activities. This specialist is primarily responsible for directing air traffic. Duties include:
- Operating radar air traffic control equipment on land and sea
- Assisting in preparing of flight plans

Training
Nearly every Navy enlisted soldier undergoes eight weeks of basic training, which consists of basic skills needed for Navy activities. Advanced individual training is usually required for specialization. The length of time needed for advanced training varies depending on the area of specialization.

The ideal candidate for a Navy air traffic controller should:
- Understand the need for accuracy and precision
- Remain calm under stressful situations
- Have experience in radio broadcasting
