| Job Description |
The Air Force morale, welfare, recreation and services officer plays an integral role in maintaining the health and well-being of Air Force personnel. This officer plans and directs food service, lodging, fitness, mortuary, recreation, child development and leisure functions. Additional duties include the facilities and equipment used in these areas
Training
To become an officer in the Air Force, you must be a current student or graduate of a four-year college or university. You must also complete an extensive training officer course, which may vary in length depending upon your specialty. There are four main pathways to becoming a commissioned officer:
- U.S. Air Force Academy
- Officer Candidate School and Officer Training School
- Reserve Officers' Training Corps
- Direct appointments
An indirect path is through the Enlisted Commissioning Programs.
