| Job Description |
The Air Force electrical systems apprentice is an integral member in maintaining Air Force efficiency. This specialist is primarily responsible for installing and servicing electrical equipment and systems. Duties include troubleshooting and repairing electrical and industrial electronic circuits and equipment.
Training
Nearly every Air Force enlisted soldier undergoes six weeks of basic training, which consists of basic skills needed for Air Force activities. Advanced individual training is usually required for specialization. The length of time needed for advanced training varies depending on the area of specialization. Training for the Air Force electrical systems apprentice includes:
- Installation and maintenance of airfield lighting systems and other specialized lighting systems
- Pole climbing techniques
- Information on other electrical systems

- Be interested in mechanics, math, machine shop work and electricity
