The Marine data communications maintenance specialist is an important member in ensuring operational efficiency. This specialist is primarily responsible for installing, inspecting and repairing telephone, teletype and cryptographic equipment and cables. Duties also include calibrating precision electronic, mechanical, dimensional and optical test instruments.
Training
Every Marine learns to become a rifle expert first. This is an integral part of the 13 weeks you'll spend in basic training, which is one of the most intense training course for any military operation. After basic, you'll attend military occupational specialty training, which varies in length depending on your specialty.
