The Marine musician greatly enhances Marine ceremonies and events with music. This specialist may perform in the Marine Corps Band, unit bands or the Drum and Bugle Corps.
Training
Every Marine learns to become a rifle expert first. This is an integral part of the 13 weeks you'll spend in basic training, which is one of the most intense training course for any military operation. After basic, you'll attend military occupational specialty training, which varies in length depending on your specialty.
Helpful skills
The ideal candidate for the Marine musician should:
- Be physically fit
- Be proficient in at least one musical instrument |
