Job Description
The Marine intelligence officer plays an important role in ensuring success in battle and peacetime operations. This specialist is primarily responsible for recording and interpreting all types of informational material. Duties also include:
- Studying aerial photographs
- Interrogations using your foreign language skills
- Translating written material
- Interpreting conversations

Training
Every Marine learns to become a rifle expert first. This is an integral part of the 13 weeks you'll spend in basic training, which is one of the most intense training course for any military operation. After basic, you'll attend military occupational specialty training, which varies in length depending on your specialty.

Helpful skills
The ideal candidate for the Marine intelligence specialist should:
- Be physically fit
- Have a good understanding of geography, history, government and economics
- Know another language in addition to English
- Be able to type
- Have some knowledge of mechanical drafting
