The Marine biological/chemical substance specialist is an integral member of the team ensuring the safety of Marine personnel as well as civilians. This specialist is primarily responsible for applying detection, emergency and decontamination measures of radioactive areas. Duties also include inspecting and performing preventive maintenance on chemical warfare protection equipment.
Training
Every Marine learns to become a rifle expert first. This is an integral part of the 13 weeks you'll spend in basic training, which is one of the most intense training course for any military operation. After basic, you'll attend military occupational specialty training, which varies in length depending on your specialty.
