Job Description
The Marine operational communications specialist is an integral member in ensuring effective communications. This specialist is primarily responsible for laying communication wire. Duties also include installing and operating radio, radio telegraph and radio relay equipment and encoding and decoding messages.



Training

Every Marine learns to become a rifle expert first. This is an integral part of the 13 weeks you'll spend in basic training, which is one of the most intense training course for any military operation. After basic, you'll attend military occupational specialty training, which varies in length depending on your specialty.



Helpful skills

The ideal candidate for the Marine operational specialist should:

- Be physically fit

- Have a good understanding of math, electricity and electronics
