Job Description
The Marine ordnance specialist plays an important role in ensuring success in battle and peacetime operations. This specialist is primarily responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing artillery, anti-aircraft weapons and fire control optical instruments. Duties also include operating machine tools or modifying metal parts.

Training
Every Marine learns to become a rifle expert first. This is an integral part of the 13 weeks you'll spend in basic training, which is one of the most intense training course for any military operation. After basic, you'll attend military occupational specialty training, which varies in length depending on your specialty.

Helpful skills
The ideal candidate for the Marine ordnance specialist should:
- Be physically fit
- Have a good understanding of math, mechanics and blueprint reading
