| Job Description |
The Air Force electrical power production apprentice is an integral member of the team maintaining the infrastructure of the Air Force. This specialist is primarily responsible for installing, operating, maintaining, repairing and inspecting power product plants and equipment as well as Aircraft Arresting Barriers. Duties include:
- Checking installed equipment, such as engines and generators
- Operating equipment
- Interpreting instruments and gauges
Training
Nearly every Air Force enlisted soldier undergoes six weeks of basic training, which consists of basic skills needed for Air Force activities. Advanced individual training is usually required for specialization. The length of time needed for advanced training varies depending on the area of specialization.
