The Coast Guard storekeeper is a key member of the team maintaining operational efficiency. This specialist is primarily responsible for providing and accounting for supplies and spare parts. Duties may also include purchasing and managing.
Training
Nearly every Coast Guard enlisted soldier undergoes eight weeks of basic training, which consists of basic skills needed for Coast Guard activities. Advanced individual training is usually required for specialization. The length of time needed for advanced training varies depending on the area of specialization. To become a Coast Guard storekeeper, you must undergo an additional seven weeks of training.
