| Job Description |
Essential to gathering information about enemy forces and potential battlegrounds is the National Guard imagery analyst. These responsibilities are tied to effective communications necessary for successful National Guard operations. Duties include:
- Analyzing aerial photographs and other imagery of objects and sites
- Planning the use of imaging sensors for reconnaissance and surveillance
- Identifying enemy weapons and equipment defenses
- Analyzing potential battlegrounds, military sites and communication lines
Training
National Guard training usually is scheduled to accommodate a member’s civilian life, whether it is for the job or school. Each member first attends Initial Entry Training. After basic training, a solider then reports for Advanced Individual Training, which may vary in length depending on your specialty. Training continues for one drill weekend each month and one annual training period, which is usually two weeks in the summer.
