Job Description
The National Guard interior electrician is primarily responsible for installing and repairing electrical wiring systems in National Guard buildings. This specialist is essential to the proper operation of such National Guard facilities as hospitals, offices and airplane hangars. Duties include:

• Installing and wiring

• Reading blueprints, wiring plans and repair orders

• Testing electrical circuits

• Inspecting electrical systems

• Repairing and replacing faulty wiring and lighting fixtures



Training

National Guard training usually is scheduled to accommodate a member’s civilian life, whether it is for the job or school. Each member first attends Initial Entry Training. After basic training, a solider then reports for Advanced Individual Training, which may vary in length depending on your specialty. Training continues for one drill weekend each month and one annual training period, which is usually two weeks in the summer.

• Be able to use hand tools
