| Job Description |
Playing an essential role on the field artillery team is the Army field artillery automated tactical data systems specialist. This soldier is primarily responsible for operating field artillery tactical data systems on a Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Team. Duties include:
- Supporting infantry and tank units with cannon artillery
- Launching various missiles and ammunitions
- Maintaining and operating communications systems for the team
- Determining target location
Training
To become an Army field artillery automated tactical data systems specialist, you must complete nine weeks of basic training and seven weeks and one day of advanced individual training. Classroom and in- the-field instruction covers:
- Techniques on ammuntion handling
- Operations related to gun, missile and rocket operations
