| Job Description |
The success of Army battlefield and peacetime operations depend heavily depend on the Army combat documentation/production specialist. This solider is primarily responsible for supervising, planning and operating electronic and film-based still, video and audio acquisition equipment in order to document combat and non-combat operations. Duties include:
- Operating broadcast, collection, television production and distribution equipment
- Creating visual information products in support of combat documentation, psychological operations, military intelligence, medical, public affairs, training and other functions
- Maintaining motion, still and studio television cameras as well as darkroom equipment
- Preparing captions for documentation images
- Coordinating with writers, producers and directors
- Planning and designing production scenery, graphics and special effects
Training
To become an Army combat documentation/production specialist, you must complete nine weeks of basic training, which consists of basic soldiering skills and 27 and five days of advanced individual training. Classroom and in-the-field training covers:
- Photography and audio techniques
- Operation of related equipment
