| Job Description |
Success on the battelfield relies heavily on the Army unmanned aerial vehicle operator. This specialist is primarily responsible for serving as remote pilots of unmanned observation aircraft and gathering and studying tactical information. Duties include:
- Preparing and conducting air reconnaissance
- Operating sensors for target detection
- Planning and analyzing flight missions
- Performing preflight check and procedures
- Maintaining ommunications equipment, power sources, light/heavy wheeled vehicles, crane operations
Training
To become an Army unmanned aerial vehicle operator, you must complete nine weeks of basic training, which consists of basic oldiering skills, and 21 weeks of advanced individual training. Classroom and on-the-job instruction covers:
- Planning aerial and satellite observations
- Preparing maps and charts
- Analyzing aerial photographs
- Preparing intelligence reports
