| Job Description |
Army intelligence relies heavily on the work of the Army multi sensor operator. This specialist is primarily responsible for detecting and locating static and dynamic target sources using signals intelligence/electronic warfare collection, direction finding, and ground surveillance systems. Duties include:
- Operating and maintaining ground surveillance systems, organic communications equipment, light wheeled vehicles, and power sources
- Operating ground surveillance equipment to detect, acquire, identify, locate, and exploit target communication and non-communication signals
- Processing and reporting of intercepted signals
- Assisting in emplacement, camouflage, and recovery of ground surveillance systems and associated equipment
- Detecting, locating and reporting target data by interpreting ground surveillance system information.
Training
To become an Army multi sensor operator, you must complete nine weeks of basic training, which consists of basic soldiering skills, and 18 weeks of advanced individual training. Classroom training includes practice in operating sensor equipment.
