| Job Description |
Playing a vital role on the Army electronic maintenance team is the Army land combat electronic missile system repairer. This specialist is primarily responsible for maintaining the TOW (M-220 Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided missile) antimissile system, the DRAGON antitank guided missile systems and the Bradley Fighting Vehicle system. Duties include:
- Testing instruments, navigational controls and simulators
- Replacing and repairing equipment parts
- Performing quality control
- Assisting inspection and maintenance units
Training
To become an Army land combat electronic missile system repairer, you must complete nine weeks of basic training, which consists of basic soldiering skills, and 24 weeks of advanced individual training. Classroom instruction covers:
- Principles of electronics
- Use and maintenance of electrical and electronic test equipment
- Equipment repair
