Job Description
The Army air traffic control equipment repairer plays an important role in ensuring aircraft safety. This specialist is primarily responsible for the maintaining and installing air traffic control communications, navigation aids and landing systems. Duties include:
- Using electronic and electrical equipment to test instruments, navigational controls and simulators
- Replacing equipment parts such as resistors, switches and circuit boards
- Performing quality control measures
- Installing, adjusting and maintaining air traffic control communications and navigation aids systems

Training
To become an Army air traffic control equipment repairer, you must complete nine weeks of basic training, which consists of basic soldiering skills, and 35 weeks of advanced individual training. Classroom instruction covers:
