| Job Description |
The National Guard criminal investigations special agent is essential to the law enforcement team protecting National Guard property and personnel. This specialist is primarily responsible for supervising or conducting investigations of alleged crimes that affect the National Guard. Duties include:
- Investigating activities related to criminal activities, espionage, treason and terrorism
- Interviewing witnesses and suspects
- Collecting, analyzing and disseminating criminal intelligence
- Providing forensic laboratory support
- Maintaining related records
Training
National Guard training usually is scheduled to accommodate a member’s civilian life, whether it is for the job or school. Each member first attends Initial Entry Training. After basic training, a solider then reports for Advanced Individual Training, which may vary in length depending on your specialty. Training continues for one drill weekend each month and one annual training period, which is usually two weeks in the summer.
