Senior Systems Architect/ Senior Enterprise Architect
Position Title: Senior Systems and Enterprise Architect
Clearance: 1. Secret 2. DoD PKI (or the ability to qualify for the certification

Core Responsibilities:
• Reviewing and providing analysis of the current state of architecture and creating/updating baseline configuration documents.
• Reviewing and improving on existing systems architecture, making use of new technologies and methodologies to seek continual improvement for existing systems.
• Delivering alternative, detailed designs. The changes to be documented pertain specifically to Oracle Portal, application server, database, network, and architectural components. The new architecture designs must, at a minimum, meet all currently defined and projected IA constraints, and be able to operate securely within the LIS environment. Single points of failure should be avoided and performance improved, within limitations imposed by the environment and hardware available.
• Maintaining baseline design and updating design documents as trade-offs, performance experiments, and design decisions are made. Preparing alternate views, such as interface diagrams and system diagrams, as required.
• Designing, developing, and building an upgraded architecture to mitigate the risks and issues prevalent in the current architecture. Assisting with the migration of the applications from the old to the new architecture, and the administration of the systems upon which these applications are hosted.
• Setting up and administering F5 BIG-IP LTM (local traffic manager) devices and associated software modules to perform load balancing, online certificate caching, reverse proxy and other functions as required by associated applications. Administration includes the development of custom scripts (iRules) required for interoperability with participating applications.
• Setting up, managing, and conducting application performance testing using HP LoadRunner load testing software. Support includes the generation of testing scripts and scenarios, conduct of the load test, analysis of the test results and identification of changes needed to remedy performance bottlenecks.
• Providing high level guidance and direction on project work, making sure that new projects fit in with an overall strategic vision.
• Preparing work-breakdown structures (WBS) and schedules for implementation.
• Participating in system architecture planning meetings to provide the highest level of technical advice.
• Collaborating to adjust project schedules and re-deploying resources in an expeditious manner in the event of schedule delays that are beyond the control of either party.
Basic Qualifications:
• Must have 5-7 working architectural experience
• BA/BS degree, preferably in information science, engineering, or business or comparable experience
• At a minimum, must be certified in Security+ and one OS
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Broad technical background is essential
• Understands and employs industry standards and frameworks
• Strong understanding knowledge of Infrastructure design and support concepts
• Secret Clearance and DoD PKI (or the ability to qualify and receive the certification)
Desired Skills:
• Direct work experience with US Government technical staff, customers or agencies.
• Experience working within policies and procedures for review and approval of architectures and designs
