| Job Description |
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Identify potential business opportunities and new lines of business through frequent and substantive contacts with the department acquisition officials, program office and end-user representatives.
• Understand the federal agency organization structure and decision making processes.
• Influence the acquisition strategy at department agencies so that NISH is positioned to capture new business for Ability One.
• Obtain support for the AbilityOne Program through professional relationship marketing directed toward departmental agencies’ senior management, program and project managers, and acquisition and contracting officials.
• Be the recognized key account access and procurement expert within NISH. Responsible for knowledge of organizational structure, key officials, operations, political climate, relevant metrics, major programs and overall coordination of AbilityOne projects for department agencies and accounts. Communicate department agency knowledge and changes to all relevant NISH organizations and individuals engaged in business development or management.
• Plan, arrange and coordinate participation in outreach activities such as expositions, trade shows, and conferences; promote manufacturing and services capabilities of NISH-affiliated nonprofit agencies and the AbilityOne Program.
• Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Ability to leverage contacts within the key account to influence, generate and close new business opportunities for AbilityOne/NISH.
• Ability to identify, target and penetrate customers from the key account community for products and services.
• Self-starter with confidence to build and maintain successful relationships with customers and business partners.
• Ability to research potential markets, analyze opportunities and devise business solutions.
• Proven ability to excel in a team environment working with other professionals in a collaborative mode.
• Demonstrated presentation, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple complex actions and priorities.
• Personal computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet and Intranet, databases and spreadsheets, and web-based and custom-designed applications.
• Ability to travel frequently.
• Experience in developing relationships with the key account and agencies.
• Demonstrated success in negotiation and customer satisfaction.
• Working knowledge of Federal procurement policies, regulations; familiarity with the JWOD Act/AbilityOne Program.
EDUCATION:
• 10+ years with BS/BA; 8+ years with MS/MA
• 1½ years experience = 1 year college.
