| Job Description |
The Army automated logistical specialist is an integral member in ensuring the health and well-being of Army personnel. This specialist is primarily responsible for the supervision and management of warehouse functions to maintain records and parts. Duties include:
- Establishing and maintaining records and other documents for the warehouse
- Controlling and maintaining stock
- Conducting inventories
- Operating related equipment and moving stock
- Ordering, receiving and storing supplies
- Performing quality control
Training
To become an Army automated logistical specialist, you must complete nine weeks of basic training, which consists of basic soldiering skills, and 12 weeks of advanced individual training. Classroom and in-the-field instruction covers:
- Procedures for stock control
- Accounting techniques
- Procedures for handling, shipping, receiving and stocking supplies
- Warehouse regulations for storing ammunition
Helpful skills
An ideal candidate for an Army automated logistical specialist should:
- Be interested in math, bookkeeping, accounting, business administration and typing
- Prefer physical work
- Understand the need for accuracy
- Be interested in operating such equipment as forklifts
