Army criminal investigations special agent
An Army criminal investigations special agent investigates incidents and offenses or allegations of criminality that affect the Army. The specialist plays an important role in the security and well-being of all Army personnel. Duties include:
• Investigating activities related to crime, espionage, treason and terrorism
• Handling criminal intelligence
• Providing protective service
• Assisting the forensic laboratory
• Maintaining Army criminal records
Training
To become an Army criminal investigations special agent, you must complete nine weeks of basic training, which consists of basic soldiering skills, and 15 weeks of a resident course. Classroom and on-the-job instruction covers:
• Material on civil and military laws
• Procedures and techniques on investigations
• Information on obtaining and processing evidence
