| Job Description |
Playing an essential role in the Army's judicial system is the Army legal specialist. This specialist assists judges, lawyers and unit commanders regarding legal work in diverse areas such as international law, contract law and defense and judicial legal services. Duties include:
• Researching legal decisions and Army regulations
• Processing legal claims and appeals
• Preparing related records and documents
Training
To become an Army legal specialist, you must complete 10 weeks and three days of instruction, which covers:
• Legal terminology
• Research techniques
• Preparation of legal documents
• Transcription skills
• Information on the Army judicial system

An ideal candidate for an Army legal specialist should:
