In April of 2022, recruitment bonuses for U.S. military members reached an all-time high. The Army and Navy are both offering $50,000 enlistment bonuses! If that doesn’t draw new recruits, then it’s hard to imagine what will.
Military recruitment numbers have been on the decline for a while. It’s necessary for us to determine what’s driving this trend and how to reverse it. Otherwise, we could see a military recruitment crisis very soon.
Read on to learn more about military recruitment in 2022 and beyond.
U.S. Military Recruiting Statistics
Are you keeping up with the latest military news, trends, and statistics? If not, then you might not be aware of a serious problem facing the armed services. Right now, military recruiting statistics are looking pretty shabby.
Here’s how it breaks down:
- U.S. Navy recruiting in 2021: 33,559
- U.S. Army recruiting in 2021: 57,606
- Army National Guard: 42,957
While these numbers might look promising, they’ve been falling in recent years. Recruitment numbers actually peaked during WWII. At the time, 12 million active duty military personnel helped save the globe.
Since then, though, military numbers have been on the decline.
Why Are Enlistment Numbers So Low?
Clearly, recruiters are having a tough time, but why? For one reason, it makes sense that recruitment numbers peaked during WWII. At the time, patriotism was at an all time high. Americans wanted to help save the world.
Since that time, there hasn’t been such a threat as dictator Hitler. The world has yet to see a comparable evil emerge, so the drive to join the military has dampened a bit.
Aside from that, the younger generation has different values than in the past. Past generations were more likely to view service as honorable and respectable. These days, it’s more of a means to an end.
With that, very few younger people are even interested in military service.
What’s more, very few younger people are eligible to serve. Common barriers are having a criminal record, not having a high school diploma, or being obese.
Are We Facing a Military Recruitment Crisis?
So, are we facing a military recruitment crisis? Statistics show that most branches of the military continue to meet their goals. Keep in mind, though, that those goals are getting smaller.
Right now, the perfect storm for a crisis exists, but it hasn’t started raining, yet.
It’s time to start grabbing those umbrellas and creating new strategies to recruit. Otherwise, we will have an issue soon.
Military Recruitment in 2022 and Beyond
So, are we facing a military recruitment crisis? Yes and no. All military branches are struggling to recruit. The main reason why is because so many younger Americans are ineligible.
Among the people who are eligible to enlist, many are choosing different options.
If you’re currently considering joining the military, then now is the right time to do it! Sign on bonuses are high, and new recruits are very much needed. Check out the various types of military careers and consider your options.

CPT Bruce USN/Army (Ret) I’m what ol’ salts call a mustang. USN E-1 thru E-4. US Army, E-1 thru E-5: W-1 thru W-2: O-1 thru O-3. Korea, Viet Nam. Enlisted at 17 in the Navy. Became a Fire Fighter in civilian life after discharge from Navy at 21. Recalled back to active duty while a Navy Reservist at 36 years old. Went over to the US Army to increase my pay because I had 3 children and a wife and my enlisted pay benefits wouldn’t even pay my house payment in San Francisco Bay area. I honestly love the US Navy. The US Army was ok but very degrading to senior enlisted with their unwarranted health and safety enlisted quarters inspections. Going thru senior enlisted members private dresser draws, etc. Treating grown men and women of proven abilities and senior ranks like they were children that needing chaperoning through life. I was Disability discharged from the US Army as a result of combat injuries with 17 1/2 years active service. I loved my military service tours and the camaraderie it provided. I have advised many young men asking me about a possible military career. Unfortunately, I have had to advise all of them to find a better occupation other than the military. I served with many military females and most of them could cut the muster and weren’t looking for special privileges but today’s armed services have gotten so feminized. The armed services of the United States of America are so concerned to not de-feminize their females that they have bent over backwards at the expense of the 80 plus percent of their male personnel. The females are all allowed to have their own hair style with very limited exceptions, ear rings, eye make up, lip stick, tattoos, on and on. Everything that makes a female a female (The powers that be say). Where as males are required to have their heads shaved on enlistment, and there after a military hair cut at specific times,and/or lengths and styles, no normal male beards or very restricted mustaches. Everything that make a male a male if he so chooses to have a beard or a mustache. Also the ridiculous up or out requirements. Why can’t a well qualified and competent E4, E5, E6, etc., in their respective job skill area and the same for the officer ranks be forced out because they don’t get selected for the next rank. Not everyone has to become a Master Sergeant, Sergeant Major; a Major, Colone; or Four Star General. In my career, I saw all to many very dedicated and competent personnel forced out before reaching their respective retirement years of service. Why would I, or any military person, ask or tell a young man or woman to spend their most productive years of their lives to joining the military on the possibility their careers could be cut short for lack of a promotion? I know many ex-military personnel out there will disagree with me and that I understand. All of those that do disagree with me all I ask is to show me where I’m wrong and that I’m not patriotic American.
The current administration has forced, and corrupted the Services Secretaries (WEAK), and the Military Chiefs of Staff (No Backbone, no Guts and no American Ethical Values) to Betray the United States Military. We can only Hope and Pray that our 118th Congress will be bound to fix our broken (Woke/CRT) Department of Defense. There is no time for inaction, our enemies abroad have their Nukes on our crosshairs for all our Tactical Military Installations and all our Major Cities in the United of America! Make no mistake about it, There’s only one person to blame for our Decline and that is our unbearable, divisive, lying and hypocritical President.
Well said Sir
I spent 42yrs in the Army (28 reserve and 14 active) 3 deployments over in the desert. I truly believe what the CSM is saying. I started in 1971 and retired in 2014 and have seen a lot of changes. My last department at 59 I had soldiers tell me if they ran with me they could pass their 2 mile pt test. I was around a lot of officers some good and some not so good. I have talked with a lot of young kids and I try to tell them to go into something that will benefit them after they get out. I was a mechanic and have done a lot of work on the side to make a little extra money.
You can resolve the problem but it will require many changes. 1. Get rid of don’t ask don’t tell, no one wants to have to worry about if the person next to them is a homosexual. Then you can get rid of diversify training because it won’t be necessary..
2. Stop creating issues where there are none, race is not a thing in the military anymore. When I was in my DI’s told us there was no black or white in the Corps, it was only light green and dark green.
Next our government needs to quit putting crap in school about America and Americans that isn’t true. What you are teaching in school today is painting a picture of a country that isn’t worth fighting for. Next you have to start teaching men to be men, and that being a real man is not bad or toxic… Men are not allowed to be men they have to cower down to everything and everyone especially white men.. People can’t even have a fist fight anymore without being thrown in jail. When I was young that’s how two young men settled a dispute and then they went about their business.. It also helped toughen up as you grew up. These things would be a good start. Also as a side note getting rid of the agenda pushing programming on television and putting on programming like they had when I grew up that taught morals and values would also probably help this country a lot also. This country right now is probably the most moral less and Godless country in the world. If we do not take action soon America will cease to exist.. You have people idolizing sports and music and movies as heroes. These people are not heroes they don’t have any idea what it takes to be a hero. They are wantabes but they never will be, these are the idiots setting the example for these young men you want to enlist in the military, the ones bad mouthing those who serve and disrespecting those who serve by taking a knee for the national anthem and the flag and the one true God. You want to fix the problem pull your head out your backside meaning the government and stop catering to these few and trying to make everyone else bow down to them and run this country like you have a pair..
Well said sir. So many feel this way. yet don’t have the opportunity or platform to say search.
It couldn’t be said any better. In addition to that our flag is an United State’s flag, and should be respected, as that. It is NOT the America flag, because their are 2 America’s North, Central, and South. I see commericals stating that the flag is an American flag, and this is not true.
George USN retired
It’s good to hear someone else that thinks the same way as me. Every time I bring these things up, I look like a bad guy because my beliefs are different from their beliefs. But you said it great, keep spreading the word.
Very well put a lot of TV shows today are not friendly to one another, and are promoting men with men and women with women along with drag queens stuff that would have never be tolerated in public but now it’s all over the TV set
My grandson graduated from collage had decided to join the AirForce he was decline because of a inherited blood pressure problem he takes a low dosage pill. His father who is active National Guard and Grandfather retired USAF.. who had the same kind of inherited blood pressure. My grandson had requested to be evaluated by military doctors to request a waver and they would not even consider it. Did not want to be bother by the paperwork for wavers. Due to both his parents being active military he was seen every year for his physical by a military doctor and always passed his physical to play high level collage soccer. The boy graduated with a Bachelor of science in Biology I believe with a 3.8. He has 0 fat on a very lean body. But because the computer kicked it out his chance to carry on the AirForce family tradition was taken away from him. Both Grandfathers are retired AirForce and both parents are active Air National Guard.. maybe teaching a recruiter that a computer is not always the end of a decision who could serve in the military. It’s the AirForce Loss . He has always been a go getter and he will be find a new career
Go for the waiver. It’s not hard to get one. That’s what it is there for. I had to get one to serve and so did my son. He applies through the recruiter
My grandson graduated from collage and had decided to enlist as an officer. In the United States Air Force he was decline due to a inherited medical problem, even though his Grandfather, retired USAF and Father active National Guard has the same inherited blood pressure problem. He’s on very low dosage meds , he requested to be sent to review board and they would not even consider him to try for a waver. He has played high level soccer all his life as a child and collage soccer was seen by Military doctors every year for his medical check-up to play at collage level. This boy has 0 percent fat. He graduated Bachelor of science in Biology. Graduated with I think a 3.8 . Maybe you should rethink someone may have a small medical problem is worth checking things further before you excuse them. He is from an Airforce family both grandFathers retired and both parents are active National Guards. Your loss of a great young man.
After graduating from university I applied for USAF Officer’s Training School at Maxwell AFB, AL. I passed all medical examinations and written test for pilot. I was turned down because I was 15 pounds underweight for my height of 6′ 2″. I then enlisted in the USAF for four years. I was never sick, injured or had any problems costing the government extra funds. But in the 1960’s the AF adopted a program, “5BX”, to get officers and enlistees to LOOSE WEIGHT! Duh!
Everyone thinks they have to go to college nowadays even fast food restaurants can’t get people to work for 15 bucks an hour just to give you the wrong order at the drive thru so why join the military where you start out making less then 1800 bucks a month and can qualify for WIC and food stamps until you reach E-5.. Back when I was joining the Marines the ASVAB test was a common sense test not a knowledge based test. Why would you want someone by your side that can’t figure out which way to point a claymore. If you’ve ever handled a claymore that’s funny. I joined the Marines on a drug waiver, I don’t know if they’ll still issue those but they should for minor offenses. I didn’t even finish high school I instead join the Marine’s but I was required to get my GED before I was able to re-enlist in 1994. It’s a tough situation it seems that the current generation doesn’t want to serve. Perhaps it’s a lack of national pride (which could be a result of our current political environment) or perhaps it’s the pathetic pay and constantly dwindling benifits combined with the ever increasing stringent enlistment qualifications. I wanted to serve a full 20 years for my pride but I was medically discharged after 10 years and am now 80% disabled from an injury I suffered while carrying an M-60 in the desert. The Marines will most likely never offer 50k to enlistment bonuses because most join the Corps out of pride. I’m not sure if they still offer a version of the MGIB raptor help pay for college after you get out but i do remember that the MGIB helped pay for school but it fell short of completely covering my higher education. I still left school with over 20k in federal loans that took me 10 years to pay off.. I believe that 6 years of service should qualify you for completely free ride to college. Service is difficult and requires a lot of sacrifice, discipline, and self pride. I don’t care if your gay, straight, male, female, or still aren’t sure as long as you want to be wherever they send you and you care about the lives of the brothers and sisters next to you I don’t care if your smart or dumb as a rock but if the latter you need to possess the ability to learn. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to fire a rifle but you must have discipline and the ability to learn.. Bottom line is that there seems to have been a decline in work ethics and no one wants to get there hand’s dirty anymore offer a completely free tuition including books to a up to a 4 year college or vocational school of your choice. Then perhaps we wouldn’t need to be adding 1.2 billion dollars on a tuition forgiveness.plan.. offer a way for the less fortunate to obtain a higher education..
Well said they couldn’t even draft these people. We have raised a bunch of sisies, can’t live in the folks basement forever.. It’s our government that is at fault.
Our government does have a lot to do with it nowadays at present the White House is bringing the United States 🇺🇸 down you can’t believe anything they say anymore we can’t even have a fair vote we have too many dead people voting ,also to many non Americans citizens casting votes that’s been proven over and over California for example they had more votes than they have people and arizona is still finding voter cards that haven’t been counted and you ask why our young men and women not running down to risk there lives for some people that will buy the election and help run our great country to the ground and when or if they retire cast them aside
Unless you’re a veteran You have NO right to even run for any office in our government city county or state
Everyone of us should find and refer a recruit. I have referred 17 recruits since I left the Marine Corps. All those recruits went on to Iraq and Afghanistan and some got hurt and some didn’t come back. The last recruit is in the Marine Corps and has turned out to be a really squared away Marine earning meritorious promotion to Corporal in less than 2 years. He’s good. Let’s do it. Let’s help. We, the vets, know what is needed. Semper Fi.
So why is army and navy getting $50,000 bonus and Marines are not.
Because most Marine recruits don’t do it for the Money, My Grandfather did it for a good time He wasn’t laughing when they hit the beach on Iwo Jima Semper Fi!
I genuinely appreciate your piece of work, Great post.
Values and moral ethics have changed. Further, the downfall of religion and pride and patriotism in education in gone. Their is also No guaranteed retirement program of 50% of your pay.
I SPENT 26 Years in the army, and I lied about my age; I wound up in KOREA, FROM 1953 TO 1955. I FIRST SERVED IN THE HONOR-GUARD; THEY WANTED ME TO GO TO THE HONORB GUARD IN D.C., BUT I REFUSED, I EVEN HAD THE HONOR OF BEING A GUARD FOR MacARTHUR AND THE JOINT CHIEFS OF STAFF THAT HAD COME TO KOREA TO RECONNORTER THE SITUATION. : I TOOK PRIDEIIN WHAT I WAS DOING BECAUSE OF THE GREAT LEADERSHIP I WAS INVOVED IN AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME. . . . .BECAUSE OF ALL THIS I WAS GLAD I WAS A SOLDIER, FOR GOD AND FOR MY COUNTRY. I WENT ON TO RETIRE FROM THE ARMY IN 1969. BUT I DID ALL THIS BECAUSE OF THE GREAT AND HONEST GENERAL I SERVE. I EVEN SAT DOWN FOR LUNCH WITH THE ARMY CHIEF OF STAFF, A 4 STAR GENERAL. EVEN WHEN I WAS IN GERMANY, I HAD BREAKFAST WITH A NUMBER OF GENERALS, EVEN WITH THE SUPREME ALLIED COMMANDER. : BUT TODAY WE HAVE PEOPLE MORE INTERESTED IN “CRT” PROPAGANDA. AT THE TOP OF MILITARY STAFF NOW, YOU HAVE A MULTITUDE OF PESONNEL “WH DON’T KNOW THEIR ASS FROM A HOLE IN THE GROUND.” I PRAY FOR YOU AND THE REST OF THE REAL MILITARY PERSONNEL!!!!!!!
No one wants to go into the Military when they are pushing race based “Wok”Communism for the U.S. and have piss poor leadership at the top., as when they left Afghanistan hanging. This too shall hopefully pass. The Military exists to fight our Wars, not to play politics..
I’m a retired Navy medical service Corps officer who would love nothing more than being back on active duty providing mental and moral health support to brothers in the marine corps or army given the horrid increasing numbers of suicides, but I can’t even be considered for such a duty because I don’t have a psychologist license; even though I provided mental health services for 28 years to sailors and marines, then I provided the same services to our brother veterans incarcerated in New Mexico prisons . But I’m too old and uneducated according to curomilitary standards; I’ve had 2 strokes, but get compliments all the time from professional educators and health care providers, about my physical rehabilitation p on g my body and brain; my brain is described as looking like a shotgun blast hit it, and I had left side parathesis, but was able to run and complete a 5k run 4 years after my strokes; I also have occluded arteries that they tell me are inoperable, the surgeons won’t touch me because they believe the procedure will leave me paralyzed or dead. But I’m still ready to serve our service members if given a chance.that’s all from the old CDR. Dr. Bob.in New Mexico LPCC/LADAC retired; but preparing to reactivate my licenses GOD willing. I looked at becoming a chaplain also with the same rejection, for ordination and military service; God doesn’t consider age a limitation just read the Torah or Old Testament or the Koran. All of which I have studied on my own.
I’m a 22 year Vet of the world’s finest fighting force, The MARINE CORP. Racism was alive and well when I was on active duty. The military is just a product of society. If an individual was a racist back on the streets, he becomes a well trained fighting racist in the military. To say that racism doesn’t exist in our Military is just BS. I must admit that the military is doing all it can to eradicate it from the ranks. Just because you didn’t experience it doesn’t mean it didn’t exist. While I don’t have the time nor the energy to talk about stories about the Shinheads and other racist groups . Most racist groups join the military just for the training it provides..
The real reason recruiting is down is because who wants to risk their lives for a corrupt country that kisses the butts of illegals and criminals? The illegals get everything handed to them on a silver platter and the greedy/treasonous democrats endorse thugs, criminals and deadbeats.I don’t blame the youth for not wanting to join…I wouldn’t either.
They also took away the retirement. The TSP or 401k is a trick. The TSP was in place already before I retired in 2014. So what they match it up to 5 percent after three years. All they did was take the 20 yr pension away. They said people that serve four years need something too. Crap! They get medical for the rest of their lives and a GIBill to go back to school. They don’t even realize you can’t touch the 401k until 59 1/2 or you get penalized and I assure you lose half of whatever you saved. My son just enlisted in the Air Force and he plans to jump ship once his four years are up. Use his GI Bill for college.
I’m a retired US Gov’t. employee. Was told my “TSP” (Thrift Savings Plan) payments would run until I’m dead. Guess what! I was lied to! I suddenly had to readjust to lower monthly income.
It was somewhat like my plane suddenly lost altitude and I had to avoid hitting tree tops.
I Am a 10 year vet, I tell all my grand children and children not to go into the united states military, what the hell they fighting for,, they get injury, they will have too fight 20 years to get 20 percent, and once return back, they be gun down by dirty police and the court will always protect them, i tell my children to leave America,, because it is falling, and never been for black American Indians, why fight for people that murder million on million of your grandfather and grand mother stole their land, now tell the same people to spill blood for them, and the Consitution of America was never written for the black native Indians that they now call black American , and tell them the lie that they came from Africa
The reason there is problem with getting people to sign up is because they don’t want to take the poison shot. If I got a note in the mail telling me to show up I would tell them to go stick the shot where the sun doesn’t shine
There are people who want to join but can’t because they have a police record. For little reason little like fighting or smoking pot. Or having some drugs in their car or for shoplifting. Or can’t make the weight standards.
The younger generation wants, fore the most part, nothing to do with the military. They largely don’t keep a job very long before moving on. Meanwhile the DOD is doing everything it can do to get rid of soldiers. Leadership is horrible and getting worse and people have had enough. It’s going to get worse before it gets better.
The recruiters have no performance standards. Car wrecks and criminal acts are overlooked.
The problem with gaining recruits is incentive. Congress is taking away all incentive for the younger generation to join or make a career out of it. Why sign up for free college tuition when the Dems want to give me free tuition without serving. The military used to offer a pension, now they are taking that away and telling Soldiers to invest in the TSP(401K), and when the market crashes there goes their retirement savings. The military also garenteed free medical for life if you complete 20 years of service and retire, now Congress has effectively taken that away and retirees are forced to pay a monthly medical payment to Humana Tricare. These fookers can’t be trusted to keep there word and respect those that served, that’s why this is becoming a crisis. After 20 years of service and retiring I told my children to finish college and get a job in the civilian sector. At least there they know what they’re up against. There aren’t any promises made to be broken.

Spo on. Simply stated we need to go back to the draft. But include women this time. And BTW there are only two genders, Male and Female and both between the age of 18 and 30 should be subject to the draft.
I agree and I think everyone both make and female need to be made to enter the military for at least a two year tour. If they don’t meet the weight or another disqualifying impediment then they need to be put in a program that can get them to meet the requirement. No using impediments to avoid service. Time to get these kids that the schools have indoctrinated set straight. Being a female veteran I think it would be a good way to increase patriotism that is lacking in our lazy youth!
Draft won’t work and as far as women in the army I’m a Seabee veteran my girlfriend is a staff sergeant in the army the men in the army treat them badly she can’t wait h to o get home from Iraq fact is our military is going down hill politicians lye and cut benefits yet they have amazing perks wtf when they put the draft in we will end in civil war cause the cancel me generation knows nothing of honor country and god
The retirement changes really caused the issue. I did 20 and retired at 39 from the Navy. Sure I got a job, but retirement of half your base pay was guaranteed. 491Ks are a joke. The old retirement was what kept a lot of people in.
What about the Army’s inability to offer a waiver for prior service veterans with an RE3 code? I’ve tried for years to re-enlist with the Guard to no avail. Now I’m at the age cap. So for me, it’s literally now or never.
Can you offer any details as to whether these requirements have changed recently? If so, I would like to be contacted as soon as possible please.
This really answered my problem, thank you!
I was a navy seabee. I joined and was proud to serve my country. Now 100% disabled by v.a. . Im 76 and served 3 tours, twice to vietnam. Many medical problems. But if i had the chance id do it all over.
30 years in the Marine Corps. Proud of my service but cannot recommend any military service to a young person.
The attitude of the military and government is destroying the services.
Kicking People out for refusing the experimental shot, the push on the “woke” agenda, lousy treatment of vets, and mny other issues.
Why would anyone want to get into that mess???
I’m a female who was proud to be in the Army in the early 80’s. I feel ANYONE can be in the military as long as they can do their job BE A SOLDIER. I understand why recruitment is down because this generation feels entitled. They feel you owe them something just for being here. As for this country right now it’s falling apart. We use to stand tall and proud now everybody just wants to kill each other. Thank all of you who serve and Respect. Loretta
TOMMY RAY WOOD, DO NOT BLAME THE LACK OF RECRUITMENT OF THE AD’S OF GIRL WITH THE TWO MOM’S. I AM SURE THERE IS ALSO AN AD OUT THERE SHOWING A BOY WITH TWO DAD’S AS WELL. IT IS ONLY THE WAY THAT SOCIETY IS SHAPED IN THIS WORLD TODAY. THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY IS FINALLY GETTING RECOGNIZED LIKE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DECADES AGO! SOCIETY NEEDS TO START TO ACCEPT THIS. THEY ARE NOT GOING AWAY. NOW THAT THEY ARE BEING RECOGNIZED AND OUT IN THE OPEN AND LEGALLY GET MARRIED, THEY WON’T BE HIDDEN ANY LONGER!
And they aren’t joining the military to defend our country. IE recruitment numbers falling. They are too busy screaming to be recognized for their sexual orientation and individualism while our enemies laugh. We need tough leadership and hardened soldiers to fight. You are entitled to your opinions and voicing them the same as I am. That is what I defended in the military. I don’t agree but you can say what you want. The numbers don’t lie.
Amen! I’ve been there and done that in Viet Nam. I don’t want to be in the same foxhole as someone who cannot decide what sex they are, or which dress they want to wear tonight. It was not tolerated when I was in at all Period. It is very sad that Washington has allowed the Military to be brought down to this level.
They need to bring back the draft. When I reenlisted in 65 I received a whopping $1000 for a six year enlistment. Money is not the answer. Its a lot to do with our government and the way kids are raised at home. The lack of country pride and the willingness to help your country.
We do not need the draft. Congress can’t even determine if kids are adult enough to own a weapon at 18, but you want the draft!
I completely agree! I wouldn’t have wanted someone in the foxhole with me that doesn’t want or have the pride of serving our nation, We need to stick with the voluntary service. Hell there was a few that slipped thru the recruitment process that we had to work hard to straighten or weed out.
I am a veteran USN Navy Corpsman. I agree with the statement that the problem stems from both the decisions of the leadership and the way our children are being raised. As a health care worker I see it every day. People have become very selfish and feel entitled. Everything is about them and nobody else. I say this decline begin when our government took God and patriotism out of our schools. Fact is, this country was built on both. To do away with them was in fact a shot across the bow of our country.
This is a sick way to look at it There is no place in the military for such bullshit The military is for a purpose and it is not a landing for people that cannot figure out what they are The military is supposed to be a force in readiness and not a home for freaks I am a disabled Marine veteran with 10 years of service I don’t care what these people want They make the situation of being in combat with people who have a mental problem If you don’t like hearing the truth then it’s to fucking bad
Sure it’d out there in the open GOD say man will destroy himself just look around @ all the changes and crisis through out the Golbal world, in the beginning GOD created heaven and earth and saw that’s was good, then he created man and woman to have dominening over the world ever thing else is man doing and believes it’s or not GOD is still very much alive and he’s sees what’s going on open your eyes Satan have you right were he wants you to be very stuip and blind
I’m not sure it’s because the ad shows two mom’s. As a veteran in the Army in the 1979 the military has always had gay soldiers that were pretty open from what my experience was. I really think that all of the woke crap going around and Gen Milly’s and Austin’s statements on their view of what they want to do to the service has a lot to do with turning off people. When I listened to what they were doing and saying I knew I would of gotten myself out of the service or not enlisted if it was like that when I joined. And then you have the politicians who look down at our flag? Disgusting how they talk about our country.
I can give one reason. It’s the ASFAB test you give.. It is very hard for some. I was drafted so nothing like this was going on then.. Apparently I was smart enough to get my MOS in Air Defense. My grandson tried so many times to join the Army. He wanted to be in the Military Police. He missed by only 1 point a few times on the ASFAB and they said no way.
I’m sorry your grandson was stupid.when I recruited if the kids I got were stupid I would take them upstairs to the Marines and if you could spell your name right you could pass the test Gunny made his mission every month..
Oh Bullsh** to begin with it is called ASVAB not ASFAB!! The Marines had to take the exact same tests. Therefore, if he didn’t make it in the Army, he definitely wouldn’t make it in the U.S. Marine Corps and for sure through boot camp. Boot camp is even harder in the Marine Corps than in the Army and no one gets liberty during boot camp in the Marine Corps like they do in the Army. So you have to be smart to join the Marine Corps as well. I take this personally since I had to be smart enough to be able to get the Marine Corps MOS that I wanted in Aviation.
I’m retired Gy/Sgt 20 plus years/master degree, serviced 2 tour’s in Vietnam a wife, 12 kids 33 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren working full-time plus occasionally mandatory overtime a very
I agree partially. The must have been stupid because the ASVAB is not difficult. It’s harder for a kid with GED to get in than a kid with a HS diploma. With a GED you need to score much higher to be accepted because the military thinks you must be stupid if you quit school early. Often times however, GED recruits score much higher than kids that completed school.
I was an Army Recruiter in the early 80’s. I never called a possible recruit any thing but his or her name… The ASVAB is based on a 7th grade level thus most people are dumbfounded at the test.
AT FT LEWIS, WA, I TAUGHT THE ASVAB TEST, PLUS THE AVIATION TEST, AND THE MOS TEST WHERE I GAVE A SYNOPS OF THE IMPORTANCE OF PASSING THIS TEST; AND I GAVE LANUAGE WHOTEST, PLUS A FEW MORE TEST. WHAT WAS SO STARLING WAS I WAS CONFRONTED WITH A SOLDIER WHO HAD A COLLEGE DEGREE BUT WAS FAILING THE ASVAB TEST. MY SELF AND MY COLLEUEGES WORK DAY AFTER DAY WITH HIM TILL HE COULD PASS THE ASVAB TEST,.
The service has a waiver that is given if your score are a few points under. All you need is the high school records. Recruiter are lazy to submit the waiver to the Captain. Was a recruiter myself USAF
I guess the LGBT community is not supporting the trans generals and admirals running our military. We have plenty of patriotic young men available. Unfortunately they look at the disgracefull way the current administration treats patriots and choose to not serve a cause that is trying to destroy America. The recruitment ad about the girl with 2 moms made a laughing stock of our military leadership and the Afghanistan debacle reinforced that the inmates are running the asylum. Any questions why recruitment is down? This is complete insanity and on top of everything force an unproven vaccination upon all military members which has a much better chance of harming/killing them than the disease if infected in their age group. We need to clean house from the top down, especially in military brass, and start fresh with leaders who have integrity & honor. Especially the commander in chief.
He’ll Yea totally agree with you. I spent 20 years in active service . There were gays hiding in the service but they were Rangers and SF and wernt flying rainbow flags and they were deep in the closet and did there job
But now they want to join so Uncle Sam will pay for there sex change and that is bull shit. The Services brought it among them selves thanks to Clinton’s don’t ask don’t tell bull sht,and it just got worse from there I was stuck in recruiting when that started and potential recruits would ask if they were going to serve with gas guys and I would tell them that all the queers joined the Navy and that the tough guys joined the Marines to.prove their manhood so no m p re Gays make being gay against the law UMCJ and let’s get the .military Gay free again .
Amen and thanks for your service.
Are you seeing that in your crystal ball? Look at Disney getting canceled in Florida for showing to much support to a subgroup that the great majority does not agree with. We need to bring America back to the conservative values that this nation was founded on, and the LGBTQ- community was not included!
Awesome comments. Retired Army 21 years. 18 years high school automotive instructor . If you want to see what the heart beat of America is, attend a class in the morning during the Pledge of Allegiance. You may not hear many students recite the pledge, because the yellow-bellied school board stars that the students are to stand, no distractions, but do not recite the pledge. Most of them have no idea what the symbolism of the flag represents. I have even polled the first block classes, to see how many have or had relatives in the military. Most did not care about this country. One time I had a Hispanic student whistle during the pledge. It made my blood boil. I spoke with him afterwards and asked him why he was doing that. He said that he did not want to be in this country and did not care about the flag or the pledge. I told him that he needed to pack his bags and head across the border, since I or any other American did not want his ideology here either. And BTW , I told him to not let the gate hit him on the back side. I am surprised I did not receive a reprimand for that.
You are absolutely correct that we need a shakeup from the top down. A preacher once said in a sermon, that some people have stink’in think’in and need a checkup from the neck up. True words.
So far with my Vietnam Army Combat and 23 years Retired Navy Chief Military experience, I can appreciate the information and work this takes to inform all of my Brothers and Sisters including Military Spouses and families. I really feel that your company is definitely appreciated. God Bless You and May God Bless America.
the trouble people see today that the this country does not take care of the vets you get hurt from serving for this country and when you get out you have a lot of red tape to get anything out of the V.A you put in for your injury and they sent you to c and p exams to people who have no ideal what you have gone threw, so you see your father not get what s coming to him or your mother or your brother ,the THE V.A DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEMS and every time there is a election in this country the dem and the rep make promise to get the vet to vote ,and after said an done they dont stand by us. we need to get them old people out of there ,and kick them out of office , look at all the old man and woman in this goverment ,there old and past there times if we have to retire and so should they , they should recieve the same medical as us , if this country would by the vets and help them ,people would line up to go inn ,
Most of those old fookers were draft dodgers too. All the cowards were elected to office somehow and that’s why our country is going to shite. Look it up if you don’t believe me, even Brandon doged the draft, fookin coward!
Maybe it has something to do with the babbling idiot and his puppet master’s currently in office? If I knew these incompetent idiots were in charge,I would never join the military!
How true…….. The VA appears to try to Minimize any military related benefits, for Political reasons, dictated by our democratic party…….. Correction: The VA absolutely minimizes military service related Benefits …………
Having served 20 plus years in the United States Army. I served in Vietnam, Korea on the DMZ. WHY CAN”T the Army, Navy, Air Force and the proud the Marine corp, reach it recruting numbers. The Kid’s to day and I say this is not there doing. Back when the draft was in effect the people who burn there draft cards, burn the american flag. And ran off to canda and other places to avoid the draft. Those people bach then. Are the one’s rasineing kid’s today and spend a lot of time telling their kid’s Military Service (sucks). Schools don”t allow recruters in any more. After President Nixon and our russian partner parden all the draft dogers and sold the american military down the drain in Vietnam. Why would the kid’d want to join. And one other thing about our Military. How do you justify kicking soldier’s and Sailors out of there Barraks and find a place to live on there on. Key West FL and HI
ABSOLUTELY!! ( Nam 67-68).

Please use Spell Check!!!
This is an unfortunate sign of our times for sure. I’m a Navy vet and was in boot camp 6 days after I graduated from high school and I’m very proud of my military service. I believe that kids these days have no sense of service or patriotic duty because they were mostly raised by children themselves or in households that didn’t have a father. There is a deeper issue here, and it speaks volumes about the current American society and how the children that are being raised today don’t see the military as a viable option coming out of high school as they can get the military “experience” playing computer games in a virtual world while sitting in their rooms, eating junk food and missing what is going on in the world and not really caring either.
So very true and well said I truly respect your opinion!! My late husband was in the Navy and had a life after he came home as well as a great career and made a very lucrative income with a great retirement. Had he not passed away six years ago we would have been married 48 years today… Thank you ! Go Navy⚓️
I’m a 65 year old Army veteran and I wish I could re-enlist again.
Grab some of that cash!!
Makes two of us.
THREE OF US!!
The problem is there’s to many officers and no leadership .
There are leaders in the Marine Corps and they are your E-6 through your E-9’s and they are doing a GREAT JOB!!
