National Guard Age Requirements

Last Updated: February 25, 2015

No matter who you are, there is a good chance that you qualify to join the National Guard. Of course, there are always exceptions. If you want to learn more about National Guard requirements you are not alone.

Did you know that your age could affect whether or not you are accepted into the Guard? This is something that many people are unaware of.

Click here to request more information on National Guard age requirements.

Have you ever served in the military? If not, you must be between the ages of 17 and 42 to join the National Guard. That being said, some states have lower limits so you will want to check with your local recruiter. This is the only way of knowing for sure if you qualify.

Unfortunately, if you have never been part of the military and do not meet the age requirements you will not be able to join the National Guard. Again, make sure you check with a recruiter for more information on your eligibility. You may feel that you do not qualify, but actually find that you do.
