I tried to get this on my recent visit to Orlando/Universal and was Denied as I am only a Vietnam Veteran who served two 11 month terms in Vietnam. They told me I had to have been Active Duty or RETIRED from the military – Veterans are NOT eligible, only Active Duty, Retired and 100% disabled are allowed. I am a Vietnam Veteran with a disability but my rating is only 10%. The VA covers all my medical, but my Agent Orange, Heart Disease, Chemical Exposure, Diabetes, Hearing Loss are not enough for Universal to count me in on this program. Oh Well, I served my country and did it honorably, but Universal does not recognize Veterans with less than 100% disability. I did have a great time there from 1/3 – 1/7/2023!
You should have a much higher rating than 10%. Go to your local VA rep or American Legion/VFW VA advocate to assist in upgrading your rating. Thank you for your service. V/r, LSCS(EXW) Love, USN retired
Hello Robin,
You need the State on which you live in to assist you on a higher disability rating, I had the California Department of Veterans Affairs to help to get my 90 / 10 rating which brings me to 100%. I am a Vietnam Era Veteran, not a Vietnam Veteran.

Howdy would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m having a difficult time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!
Thank you for another excellent article. Where else could anybody get that type of information in such a perfect way of writing? I’ve a presentation next week, and I’m on the look for such information.

What about disabled vets 100 percent who are deceased and still get the widows benefit? Never have remarryed
I’ve been a Widow of a Marine that served in Vietnam. He was discharged from the corps in 1971. He was 100% disabled from service connected issues. Am I still eligible for his discounts. I also am 100ere married for 53 years. I was his caregiver

Remember you have to be active duty, reservist, disabled, or RETIRED military personnel (have put in your 20 years of service) or the discount does not apply and is not available. The discount also doesn’t apply to just the regular veteran that has served in the military for less than 20 years (retired). For the regular veteran (like me) that has served (less than 20 years), the discounted tickets are only offered for purchase 2x a year from Shades of Green, in September and January, with proof of service via your DD-214. So, if you are a regular veteran that seved less than 20 years, and have planned a vacation in other months besides Sept and Jan, you will have to pay full price. No discount is given at any other time. I just wanted to clarify, since I just went through this with my family vacation this month (June). We didn’t qualify for the discounted tickets since I wasn’t RETIRED, served less than 20 years, and it wasn’t during the months of Sept or Jan.
My trip began January 3, 2023 to January 7, 2023 and this discount did not apply. I am a Universal Annual Member and get no discount for my 22 months in Vietnam, 4 years in the Navy 1968-1972 – I am disabled by only get 10% although the VA covers all my other illnesses I got from my service, they are just not rated.
Love Disney and Universal, just wish they would honor ALL VETERANS!
Happy New Year!
How much is the actual cost after the military discount?
